Doesn't anyone pay his/her taxes anymore? Surely out of the 300,000 persons who expressed interest in appointed positions in the Administration, there are a few who have the requisite expertise, profile and instincts to comply with the tax laws.
Finding top talent to occupy these exceptionally challenging posts is difficult, to be sure, and no vetting process is perfect.
But it is frustrating to see that so many potential top public servants have paid so little attention to their taxes, or have actually failed to pay their taxes until their tax liabilities were unearthed.
