My column this month in The Forecaster, discussing India's exceptional economic growth, and an initiative to encourage Western universities to establish campuses in India.
The initiative, once enacted, will permit Western universities to offer coursework and degrees directly to millions of high-achieving Indian students (without the necessity of a local educational/institutional partner). This may help to keep some of the $7 billion that Indian students spend abroad annually at home, and it may encourage Indian students to remain in India post-graduation.
